Google has announced major upgrades related to the Google Payments app. Google Pay will now get a Hinglish option. It will be the first app at Google to have the Hinglish option. With this new feature, it would be easier for people to use Google Pay. The majority of Indians are more comfortable in communication in Hinglish over English. The feature would let users from all walks of life easily make payments using Google Pay.

Google announced at the event that in the previous year company had launched Groups on Google Pay. However, now the search giant will be adding a new feature to make Groups even more useful with the new Bill Split. As the name suggests, the Bill Split feature would allow a group of people at a restaurant to split the bill. The users can pay their share simply by turning the bill split mode on.

Talkin about the new Google Pay feature, Ambarish Kenghe, Vice President, Product Management, Google Pay, said, “With over 10 million merchants now on Google Pay for Business, and many more joining the fold of digital payments every day, we are making it easy for merchants and micro-entrepreneurs to create an online presence directly from the Google Pay for business app. With the launch of MyShop – merchants will be able to effortlessly build a storefront where they will be able to add images, descriptions of their products, and prices in an easy and intuitive way, then share the link, through their Business Profile, across Google surfaces and beyond Google on social media. We hope this will further fuel the adoption of digital payments amongst new adopters, and help them create their online presence, and gain from the growing digital economy. The coming months will see MyShop and other features go live on Google Pay.”

Another interesting feature that would really be beneficial for Indian users is the ability to use Hinglish on Google Pay. To use the Google Pay app in Hinglish, users will be able to change the language from the Settings. Considering how popular and widely used app Google Pay, the Hinglish language support would further increase the user base. That is because people who are not very comfortable with English will also be able to use the app seamlessly. Google said that the features will be rolled out to users in 2022.

Apart from this, Google has announced upgrades related to its Search. Now users will be able to hear the search results out loud. This means you will no longer have to go through the search results individually. You can simply tap a button and ask Google to read whatever has been displayed in the Search results. This feature would be particularly useful if you are in a situation where you cannot look at your phone because you are either busy driving or doing something else.
